Music by Bartók, Britten, and Sibelius with an Alaska premiere by Frank Stemper
ACMF guest artists put down their bows and pluck away! Enjoy a distinctively frolicsome program, where composers delight in exploring all that string instruments have to offer. Bartók’s fourth string quartet takes the chamber ensemble to new heights, in an unapologetically raucous amalgam of folk sounds, rhythms, and characters. This Season's New Music Premiere features the music of Frank Stemper and his second string quartet.
